Additional Voluntary Pension Contributions

AVC’s

What is an AVC?

Additional Voluntary Contributions or AVCs are extra contributions you can make alongside your existing pension plan.

Before considering making AVCs, you should check if it is necessary.  You should establish what are your estimated entitlements when you retire. This includes benefits from your current employer and any pension benefits accumulated from previous work. If a shortfall is identified and your existing pension assets will not result in accumulating an adequate sum, then one way of rectifying this is to set up an AVC.
